What is a Piggyback Forklift?
A truck mounted forklift is also called a “piggyback forklift”. This term was invented by Teledyne Princeton Delivery Systems. Princeton forklifts are the second most popular brand behind the leading brand.
Princeton Piggyback forklift by Teledyne Delivery Systems (now Princeton Delivery Systems) soon followed the Moffett. It utilized the all-wheel drive, three-wheel pneumatic tire configuration, and moving mast carriage for mounting and load stabilization. The Prince forklift adopted a unique mounting system which they called the “EZ Hitch System”, which uses hooks the mount to anchored pins in the back of the truck or trailer.
